Support local people

Support Us

Your support helps keep a warm, practical place open for people across Tumut and the surrounding districts. Since 1979, the Centre has been here with food relief, advocacy, care and a helping hand when it matters.

Your support in action

What your support does

A gift, a donation of goods or your time helps us respond to practical needs close to home.

01

Basics Groceries Bags

Basics groceries bags put together by the Centre and given to clients.

02

Batch cooking

Rescued bread, pastries and vegetables are cooked into vegetable soup and other quick, nutritious, low-cost meals. The meals are frozen and given to clients alongside a Basics Groceries Bag. The aim is to help people learn to make quick, cheap, nutritious meals from little or from leftovers.

03

Community Table

A community cook-up and sit-down dinner, with remaining cooked food frozen and handed out on an ongoing basis.

04

Material aid

Providing clothing, household goods and other essentials to people who need a hand.

05

Medical travel and accommodation

Helping with the practical costs of getting to medical appointments and staying away from home when needed.

06

OSHC and vacation care

Keeping before-school, after-school and vacation care available for local families.

07

Computer kiosk and digital help

Offering a free computer kiosk and patient support with everyday digital tasks.

08
